"Globus"

Globe is derived from the Latin word "sphere" and is a small copy of the Earth. The globe depicts land, water bodies, mountains, plains, etc., while maintaining the geometric contours of the Earth and the ratio of the areas. It will not have errors of area and shape as in geographical maps. In the East, the first scientific globe was made in Khorezm by Abu Rayhan Beruni in 1016 (P. Bulgakov wrote that it was made in 995). This globe was the first relief globe of only the Northern Hemisphere and clearly depicted inhabited areas. The diameter of the globe is known to be about 5 m. Beruni wrote about the globe he made in "Geodesia". The museum has a copy of a globe made in Iran during the Timurid era (1430-31 years). This unique museum exhibit is made like the famous Ulugbek and Tusi globes.
